About

Senior engineering, by trade. Technical leadership, by responsibility.

Over the last decade I've moved from solo fullstack work into engineering leadership — currently leading a team at Minimalart while taking selective consulting and architecture engagements. I design and ship production systems across TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node, Laravel, and Postgres, and I've built and reviewed software against ISO 27001 controls. The work I'm proudest of is invisible: architectures that don't wake anyone at 3 AM, code reviews that compound into team knowledge, and releases that shipped exactly when they were supposed to.

How I build software.

  • Architecture before code.

    I draw the system before I open the editor. Boundaries, data flow, failure modes, blast radius. The point of architecture is not elegance — it's making the next change cheap.

  • Reviews are the product.

    A merged PR is the smallest unit of company knowledge transfer. I review for correctness, for readability, and for the engineer six months from now who will have to live with the choice.

  • Performance is a feature.

    p95 is a budget, not a metric. I measure first, ship to the budget, and refuse to call something done if it regresses TTFB or hydration.

  • AI in the loop, not on the wheel.

    I work with Claude, Cursor, and Copilot in every project — for scaffolding, refactors, and review. The engineer still owns the architecture, the tests, and the production cut.

Beyond code. Engineering that moves the org.

Senior engineering is half writing software and half compounding the team that writes it. Here's how I do the second half.

  • Architecture you can hire against.

    I write decision records the next senior engineer can read in fifteen minutes. Boundaries, trade-offs, and failure modes — explicit, so onboarding doesn't cost a quarter.

  • Hire well, then defend the strategy.

    I help shape rubrics, run interview loops, and protect the architectural decisions that keep velocity from collapsing as the team grows.

  • Code review as the product.

    Review SLAs, taste-setting examples, and structural feedback that compounds. The team writes better code six months in than it did at hire — because the bar was set on day one.

  • Compliance without theatre.

    I've collaborated on ISO 27001 controls without slowing delivery. Security as a property of how the code is written, not a checklist taped to a release.
